The Look: Going Out
There's no better way to channel your inner boss bitch for a night out than with a distressed jeans/blazer/pump combo. Whether you're meeting up with friends, cozying up for date night, or taking on the business world via a work mixer, this look has you covered. The Tee creates the ideal foundation for this look that's the perfect mix of polished and edgy.
Silica Tee: The Tee by The Source (ethically made in Los Angeles by small factories paying living wages)
Camel Blazer: Trouve by Nordstrom; kept and loved for many seasons (because the most sustainable garment is the one you already own!)
Black Distressed Jeans: J Brand via Crossroads Trading (because secondhand will always be the best method of clothing recycling!)
The Look: Daytime-Playtime
Like most of us, you have stuff to get done. Like, a LOT of stuff to get done. Shopping, errands, and hopefully a little play, too--maybe a lunch or coffee date with a friend? Your list is long and your calendar is full as you prepare for the day. And yet. You want to be comfortable. And also put together. Is that too much to ask? We think not.
Silica Tee: Did we mention it's made of 70% Tencel? (A super-sustainable eucalyptus-based fiber with a buttery-soft feel.)
Topstitched Denim Mini Skirt: Free People, loved and cared for over many seasons
Vegetable Tanned Leather Slides: Ancient Greek Sandals (made using ancient, non-toxic tanning methods, helping to green the highly toxic leather industry)
Hand Carved Leather Bag: found item during travel to Mexico; gifted to our designer, Alexis at age 15!
Handmade Hammered Gold Earrings: found item by local artisan in Sitges, Barcelona, Spain
Organic Essential Oil Fragrance Roller: I by Fluid Fragrances (a brand partner of The Source that we love for their non-toxic ingredients and highly inclusive approach to fragrance!)
The Look: Active
What good is a tee shirt if it can't withstand a little sweaty fun? Ever the fan of all things active, our designer, Alexis, dreamed up The Tee with movement in mind. Here, it partners up with a palette of pastels to keep your next jog or barre class on trend.
Silica Tee: The cotton component of the fabric used for The Tee uses is organic, which means it has a significantly lower carbon footprint than conventional cotton.
Lavender Leggings: The Source (as it turns out, these stretchy beauties are also made of organic cotton!)
Twilight Heather Hoodie: PACT. This super soft, extra-comfy organic cotton hoodie is a perennial favorite. Made by a great ethical company, too!
Dusty Rose Tissue Cashmere Scarf: Begg & Co. Did you know that ethically-produced cashmere is one of the most sustainable fibers around?
Platinum Grey Flyknit Trainers: Nike. Although it's not readily advertised, all the yarn used for the knitted portion in Nike's Flyknit sneakers is made from recycled plastic.
Lavender Earl Grey Lip Butter: This is one of our many nontoxic beauty favorites made by the LA-based mother/daughter team at No Tox Life. Available on our site!
The Look: Street Style
Street style is always in style. Regardless of age or stage in life, a jeans/tee/sneaker look will always be fresh. Here, we've added a vintage jacket and a couple of favorite no-nonsense jewelry pieces to complete this tomboy-next-door ensemble.
Silica Tee: Sewn with a high stitch count and attention to fine detail, to make sure it will last through all your adventures together.
Dark Wash Contrast Stitched Jeans: Nudie Jeans via Crossroads Trading. Even though denim is one of the most toxic portions of the garment industry, Nudie is out here showing us that it doesn't have to be that way.
80s-style Canvas Sporty Bomber Jacket: Vintage, thrifted via Out of the Closet, which helps fund HIV care services in Los Angeles.
Rainbow Wave Sneakers: Soludos (a travel-inspired brand that incorporates many minimalist and sustainable practices into its designs).
Kissing Tigers Bangle Bracelet: (almost) vintage; plucked from an Urban Outfitters display and subsequently owned and loved for 15+ years by our designer, Alexis.
Classic Key Necklace: The Giving Keys. Their mission of promoting positivity and helping people transition out of homelessness inspired us to make them our first brand partner. Available on our site.
